The Thiashola Tea Estate is situated in the scenic Niligiri hills. Unlike in the tea plantations of Darjeeling and Assam, the estates in these hills grow tea all year round. The tea plants are generally grown at an altitude of 1,000 to 2,500 metres, which also means that the estate is at a height with a staggering view of the hills and the valley below. Standing at the top of a hill, one can see acres and acres of green stretched out ahead, and blue skies above. Very often, because of the high altitude, there is mist and fog at eye level through which one can just about see the silhouettes of mountains in the distance; truly nature at its most peaceful and beautiful.
